IT Repair Technician

Description: Our highly successful client are continuing their growth in 2021, and are now recruiting for an experienced IT Repair Technician to join their busy IT equipment repair centre on the outskirts of Cardiff.

We are seeking candidates from varied backgrounds, ideally with some experience of repairing peripheral equipment repair, to carry out repairs on a number of printer types & IT equipment at the Cardiff depot.

In this busy role, you will ensure a sufficient level of stock is available for field engineers to replace customer equipment as required.

A car driver is preferred for this role, although not essential.

Hours are Monday to Friday 9am – 5.30pm.

The Role:

Carry our repairs to a range of printers including thermal, laser, dot matrix and deskjet.
Carry out repairs to fax and copiers within multi-function printers.
Keep accurate records of equipment returned for warranty and fourth party repair.
Document test and fix procedures.
Investigate fault trends.
Source and act in an advisory capacity on components for replacement.
Maintain communication with other departments to ensure effective relationships.
Adhere to housekeeping and health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment is maintained for all employees within the department.The Person:

Experience of repairing printer hardware and peripheral equipment.
Experience of working with small PC / hardware components.
Ability to meet physical demands of position.
Strong organisation and multi-tasking skills.
Excellent computer literacy skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Effective team player, and can work under pressure and to set targets.
Logical and methodical approach.
Enthusiastic and self-motivated.
Flexible and willing to work beyond usual business hours.
