£35-50k Depending on experience
Responsible to Director of Finance and Operations


My client is a leading Independent School In South Hertfordshire. The post holder will be the strategic leader of IT and Digital Services in the School and will oversee and coordinate the effective and innovative use of IT for teaching, learning and administration
*Create, develop and implement the School's digital strategy, in consultation with all major stakeholders, ensuring particular focus on effective, evidence-driven recommendations for the integration of digital technologies, activities and contexts into the classroom.
*Developing IT Strategy and Policy by advising the Senior Leadership Team regarding all IT matters including: Hardware, Software, Infrastructure, Educational technology, Network applications, Database usage/ Management Information Systems, Privacy and Security, Website, intranet and parent portal
*Consulting with all major stakeholders within the organisation including the SLT, SMT and parents to ensure their digital needs are understood and met
*Creating a 3-5 year plan and reporting against this plan;
*Achieve appropriate IT accreditations for the School
*Managing and maintaining the IT Infrastructure throughout the School, setting priorities for investment;
*Evaluating the performance of the infrastructure;
*Being aware of evolving best practice;
*Preparing and managing the IT budget, including hardware & software requirements;
*Manage the effective procurement of IT products and services including those relating to hardware, software, internet provision, cloud storage, printing & copying and telecommunications
*Working with SLT and Digital Leaders to understand School's educational aims and philosophy
* Oversee the operation, management, implementation and review of the main learning platforms, eg Microsoft 365, Firefly, G-Suite etc, Ensure a suitable infrastructure is in place to deliver and develop effectively the use of IT across the School;
*Ensuring teachers and students have access to reliable, efficient and up to date generic IT facilities in their classrooms, library, specialist rooms and outdoor classrooms;
*Supervising the initial set up and then uploading of baseline data into the MIS throughout the year;
*Demonstrating expertise with and overseeing the efficient use of devices across the School;
*Arranging for appropriate whole School training in collaboration with SLT
*Maintaining, managing and developing the School's Management Information System (MIS) by:
*Taking responsibility for ensuring the efficient operating of the MIS across all aspects of the School;
*Strategically delegating relevant operational control aspects of the MIS to other key stakeholders;
*Providing support, guidance and training to ensure the efficient operation of the MIS across the School;
*Being the main point of contact between the School and the MIS provider;
*Arranging appropriate whole School and individual training
*Actively assist the DFO to ensure appropriate regulatory requirements like GDPR are met.
*Work within the school's Health and Safety policy, to ensure a safe working environment for pupils, staff and visitors;
*Maintain professional standards of attendance, punctuality and conduct with pupils, parents and colleagues;
*Working with DSL regarding e-safety;
*Support, promote and act within the School's Safeguarding Policy
*Other Adhoc duties as an when required
*Attainment of GCSE's to include Maths & English Grade A* – C
*Appropriate and relevant IT qualification
*ITIL or equivalent certification, experience, or exposure
*Evidence of ongoing CPD
*Experience with first and second line incident and problem management solutions
*Working knowledge of Network Security Fabric, Windows Server, Networks, Office 365, Backup Strategies and Solutions and VOIP Technology
*High level of accuracy and attention to detail
*Knowledge of GDPR considerations when handling data
*Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
*Caring and supportive of the children's needs and capabilities
*Ability to motivate individuals to achieve the school vision
*Outstanding planning, administration, ICT and time-management skills.
*Excellent written, oral and presentational skills

Salary Type: Annum

Salary: £35000 – £50000/annum
